NanoBusiness Conference 2007
12 April 2007The 6th annual NanoBusiness conference will be held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City from April 15-17. This is a very important conference where numerous luminaries and businesses involved in Nanotechnology will meet to discuss the emerging science and its social implications. This year’s conference will be focused on the health impact of Nanotechnology, with a discussion of its use in developing “green energy” sources and creating a cleaner environment.
The three day conference is organized by the NanoBusiness Alliance, which has forged vast partnerships in private industry, research and governmental organizations. These alliances have enabled it to provide input into public policy while helping to push the development of Nanotechnology applications.
Keynote and closing addresses at the conference will address the broad sweep of Nanotechnology’s impact, from its ability to transform established industries such as manufacturing, to its potential as a growth industry in its own right. Speakers will address issues such as clean tech, or how Nanotechnology can play a significant role in the ever growing concern about environment.
Specifically, speakers will address issues such as how Nanotechnology can enhance solar technology to provide a viable alternative to fossil fuels. Nanotechnology is being used both in the production of solar cells and as a conductor for conveying the resulting energy to the end consumer. Also to be discussed will be Nanotechnology’s role in water filtration systems. Presently 40% of the world’s population lacks clean drinking water. Water filtration systems that employ Nanoparticles in the filtering mechanism can help deliver clean water to billions of people. Finally, the conference will discuss the all important role of greenhouse emissions from automotive fuels. Nanotechnology can help in the construction of lighter cars, while delivering cleaner, more efficient fuels at the same time.
