Use of Nanotechnology for Producing Pollution Free Energy
4 August 2008Nanotechnology has been useful in various sectors and manufacturing, electronics, energy, health, refining are some of the major areas where nanotechnology is currently being used. Nanotechnology could provide green energy and thus can contribute in making our earth green and a great place to live in.
Researchers all across the globe are carrying out research on the use of nanoparticles that can react and convert pollutants to harmless substances. Researchers at University of Waterloo are working on various nanotechnology based projects for making our environment pollution free.
Nanoengineering and nanostructured membranes are being used by various researchers for extracting carbon dioxide, the major green house gas. The researchers plan to extract carbon dioxide from burning of fossil fuel and utilize it to make biodiesel from algae.
